A question I often get is that my internet connection has been down, but when it comes back on I am unable to get my router connected.
Here are steps to ensure that your network router is connected to your DSL/Cable modem so that you can successfully get connected to the internet.
1. Unplug your Modem from electricity for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in.
2. Wait for all of the lights to reset on the modem.
3. Now unplug the network router electricity for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in.
4. The network router should successfully connect to the modem.
5. Now launch your browser to determine if your computer can now access the internet.
This process works most of the time as long as your internet provider has not changed any settings for your connection.
